It's the 31st December and today's theme is 'Mosaic', let's put some poetic pieces together to see what the essence of this year has evoked for us, and what the next year holds.
This is my take on my year for Louise’s writing exercise
I am learning to see in the dark again, just as it’s beginning to get lighter.
You are always with me, though you are far away
I am at last with my kin, it’s been far too long
Immobility couldn’t take away the joy of Abba Voyage
Apple blossom delights my eyes and melts my heart
Watching the sun go down over the sea in Soller with the ones I love most
I could listen to the Spanish mountains speaking in colours forever
Celebrating thirty nine years married to my best friend
I can’t believe my little boy is twenty nine years old, so lovely to have him with me for a short while
The days grow short and dark but I am warmly embraced in autumn colours
Another birthday is here. Getting older is not so bad when I get to spend it with my daughter
Success, I will be able to walk again free from pain. December came and went and left behind enough love keep me warm through these cold dark days
Wow! This is so beautiful, thank you for sharing ❤️
Thank you Louise, that was amazing. Have a very happy New Year 🥳💓

Emerging from darkness
exploring words within me.
Tears like torrential rain
fogging the view ahead.
Ancient harmonies,
healing the heart.
The shattering of long held hope
brings crushing grief again.
Birthday blessings brought by friends
who gently lift the weight of despair.
A wedding in a woodland,
watching love in wonderment.
Much missed children fill the house,
activity in the aquapark and on the trampolines.
Worries resurface
and my confidence to cope is shaken.
The balm of singing together
and a new project begins.
Unexpected ease
on the water with friends.
Long slow days
learning to cherish solitude.
Gathering together,
tamping down the hovering uncertainties...
