25 days of winter prompts to thaw your writers (ice)block - and this year it's all about being Cozy.
Bells ringing
Loudly booming
All over
No wedding
No Sunday service
The End of the war
A new era of peace announced
By the playing of long silenced wonders
The Bell ringers out of hibernation
People dancing with joy
Kissing the cheeks of strangers
Girls whirled around in the air
Bottles of beer and strong tots bought out to share
No room in the pub
Beside the landlord
didn’t care
It was time to celebrate
The biggest party to commemorate
No
More
Sudden departures
In the precarious phase of life
A time to settle
To breathe
To sing with joyful voice
Not mourn in devastation
Wailing painfully devastated by loss of life
Demise of young loves
And the destruction of dreams
Bells rang
And rang
And so did the celebrating , drinking, singing and dancing
You painted such a vivid picture here Chrissie, thank you <3
Thank you
Bells
I don’t need church bells to call me to worship
loud and clanging as they are
For I worship every day just by being here on this beautiful earth
And all I need to hear are the sounds of blackbirds singing at dawn
Owls calling twit twoo across the land
The psithurism of leaves whispering in the wind
And the tap tapping of the rain on my window
Let the bells ring out loud and clear
But for me they can never compete with nature’s own melodies
Love this!
The psithurism of leaves whispering in the wind - wow what a great line!! <3
#promptvent#day3 BELLS
Handbells -
shiny, glowing bronze,
with supple leather handles,
laid out on foam-padded tables,
glinting invitingly in the lights of the hall.
Ringers -
young, old, inbetween,
animated, alight with anticipation and life,
arange themselves behind the tables
awaiting their director.
Music -
some new, some traditional,
players lift their bells,
some one, some two, some more.
Melodies ring out,
rich harmonies beneath,
and I, first timer, am in love, captivated,
and having the most musical fun I could possibly imagine!
Beyond our dreams
Enchantment lives
Looking over new horizons
Listening to distant bells
Sending messages of hope.
